9 out of 10 people who die of stroke can be saved

 

Canada's McMaster University Institute of Population and Health has announced the results of its research on "stroke" disease, which causes the highest number of deaths and injuries in middle and low-income countries. A study conducted on 26,000 people with high, middle and low incomes in the world indicates that 90 percent of strokes can be prevented.

 

A stroke is a sudden interruption of blood flow to the brain and can happen to anyone. A stroke is divided into two parts. The first "ischaemic stroke" is known as an ischemic stroke and accounts for 85 percent of strokes. An ischemic stroke is a type of "stroke" caused by a blood clot. The second type of stroke, known as haemorrhagic stroke, accounts for the remaining 15% of strokes. Hemorrhagic stroke is a type of stroke caused by bleeding in the brain, Science Daily reports.
